Questions and Answers

General

Q: Is my child guaranteed a spot on a team if he/she is signed up by the registration deadline?

A: Provided that enough coaches volunteer, yes. We can't have a team without a coach.

Q: When will I know what team my child is on?

A: We currently have two sessions - Fall and Spring. Typically you should hear from your coach during the month of February for the Spring session. During the Fall session you should hear from your coach during the month of July.

Q: Is it to late to get on the waiting list?

A: Maybe. We are bound by rules stating that after the second week of regular season play the rosters cannot be expanded nor can we replace players who have dropped off of active rosters. At this time we refund registration fees to all remaining players on the current waiting list and no longer accept new registrations.

Q: If were on the waiting list, how likely is it that we'll get on a team?

A: This is hard to determine. We make every effort to place all players on a team. Unfortunately we cannot always accomplish this.

Q: Is my child old enough to play?

A: Mason S.A.Y. eligibility is based on your child's age prior to August 1. For the Fall Season, its August of the current year. For the Spring Season its August of the previous year. A child must be 4 years of age BEFORE August 1. to be eligible.

Q: When do practices start and how long is the season?

A: Typically the Spring session starts practice in the month of March and the season starts in early April ending prior to the Mason School summer break The Fall session starts practice in the month of August and the season starts in late August early September ending in late October early November.

Q: Can I request a specific coach for my child?

A: No. The rules require that all teams are to be done by blind draw.

Q: If my child had a bad experience with a specific coach, can I request not to have this coach again?

A: Yes. However, we would like to know the reason why. Please submit this in writing.
